Deleted my DailyMile account today after a year. Slow/non-existent dev & it doesn't offer anything I don't get from FetchEveryone.

18:14 for my 1st parkrun of the year at Frimley. Nice, if a tad muddy, 2-lap route with loads of very enthusiastic runners.

Perusing the list of UK parkruns made me realise the UK needs more 1-lap runs. There's only one within a short drive of me.

2013 is off to a good start with a nice gentle hour long run in the sunshine. No hectic celebrations last night so easy to get out.

Wow that was quick. My refurb'd Garmin Forerunner 405CX was delivered to me this morning. I only sent it to Garmin on Friday. Thanks Garmin.

Well, it would appear my second Garmin Forerunner 405CX has forgotten how to keep charge. Do I send it back and pay for a refurb or do I splash out for the Forerunner 610?

I'm not normally a fair weather runner, but this morning I am. It is tipping it down outside and it's cold. Normally I don't mind the rain and gauge if it's worth heading out by how hard it is raining and how wet I'm likely to be at the end of my run. This morning I woke up to find it tipping down and worked out that I'd be about 15 mins into my 2 hour run before I'd have wet undies. No thanks. An hour and three quarters of training with soggy jocks is not my idea of fun and enjoyment.

Think I'll wait until later in the day to see if it eases up. Until then a cup of tea with buffalo milk and some more duvet time are on the cards.

It's time to get a new pair of offroad shoes and I'm undecided as to whether I should stick with the Merrell Trail Gloves or try something new and go for the Inov-8 Trailroc 235s. Both have their advantages and disadvantages.

Update: Or the Vibram Five Finger Spyridon.

Things might suddenly start looking a bit odd with errors. Don't worry, I'm in the process of moving my sites to a new server.

Last week I reached my target of 2000km of running for the year. I plucked the figure out of the air at the beginning of the year knowing I'd get it, but I didn't think I'd get it this soon. I think at this rate I might get close to about 2800km for the year, which is pretty impressive considering I only ran 1563km last year. I also ticked off 1000km on my bike too, but that's mostly commuting.
